How to know when to Pivot, Persevere or Kill your ideas

GST Included

One of the most common reasons that ideas fail is because we become too attached to the final solution, way too soon. We believe so strongly in the success of our idea that we become blinkered to any and all evidence to the contrary, falling victim to confirmation bias. And getting an idea out to market often comes after months (if not years) of blood, sweat and tears. Which means we can fall victim to the sunk cost fallacy, which states that the more resources we invest in something the more inclined we are to persist with it. The end result being, for lack of a better expression, we end up ‘flogging a dead horse’.

This masterclass is designed to equip you with a set of critical tools and skills to help you overcome confirmation bias and the sunk cost fallacy when coming up with, and testing, your ideas. These tools are designed to help you course-correct, taking an evidence-led approach and ultimately ensuring that you don’t keep blindly persisting with ideas that aren’t creating value.

Specifically in this session, we’ll cover:

  • When and how you should decide to pivot, persevere or kill your idea
  • Who should be involved in the decision
  • The most common types of pivots

This masterclass is perfect for anyone who is responsible for developing, launching or monitoring new ideas or innovation.
